Gusto Challenge Complete: Hiking the Edale Skyline for Lincs2Nepal and Orchid
Earlier this month, our team from across Gusto Group, including employees from Gusto Construction and Rototek, took on the Edale Skyline in the Peak District for this year’s Gusto Challenge.
The group covered 33km with 1,323m of elevation, finishing in just under 9 hours.
A massive well done to our Gusto Construction team members Joseph, Andrew, Sam, Jasmine, Brandon, Jon, Steff, Jerome, and Anna, who all completed the route alongside the wider team from Gusto Group and Rototek.
What is the Gusto Challenge?
Every year, the Gusto Challenge brings colleagues together from across each of our businesses to do something a bit different outside of the day-to-day work environment.
Over the years, the team has taken on events like a 24-hour walk and cycling coast-to-coast. Beyond raising money for fantastic causes, these challenges are all about spending time together as a group, boosting team morale, and taking on a physical test as a team.
Reflecting on the hike, Steff, Founder and Chairman, said:
"It was a lot tougher than expected but it was a very enjoyable day. I only have a few blisters to show for it. The best part for me was spending time outside the office with the team."
Over £2,280 Raised for Our Chosen Charities
A huge thanks to everyone who has supported us, we managed to raise an incredible £2280.
This total includes a £250 match-funding donation from the Gusto Community Fund, which matches fundraising efforts by Gusto Group team members up to £250. The Gusto Community Fund was created in 2020 to connect our team and new Gusto Homes homeowners with local community projects and causes.
Every year, the charities we support are nominated and chosen by our team, making the challenge personal to everyone taking part. This year's funds are being split equally between two great causes:
Lincs2Nepal
Lincs2Nepal works directly with disadvantaged children and families in Nepal, helping provide education, healthcare, and essential resources to impoverished communities.
The money raised comes at a critical time following severe flooding and landslides in Nepal, which has destroyed homes and infrastructure. Emergency support, clean water, and community aid are urgently needed to help affected families rebuild.
