Join Gusto Construction as a Site Manager
Are you a highly organised, commercially aware, and motivated leader with extensive construction experience? We are looking for an exceptional Site Manager to join our team, ensuring the smooth and safe running of our sites and associated build-programmes.
The Role
Reporting to the Contracts Manager, the Site Manager is central to project success. You will be re sponsible for:
Site Leadership and Safety: Supervising and coordinating all operatives on site, including employees and sub-contractors. This includes always ensuring consistent construction and site safety, carrying out weekly safety inspections, and being the best behavioural example in all aspects of Health and Safety, organisation, and professional conduct.
Quality and Compliance: Ensuring the site is built to the highest standard of quality, in compliance with NHBC standards (as a minimum), building regulations, and company processes. You will undertake essential quality control inspections and work in line with company values.
Programme Delivery: Maintaining a first-rate time appreciation for the 'Build Programme' and synchronising tasks accordingly. This involves coordinating labour and resources, proactively scheduling in trades, and collaborating with the Construction Director, Designer, and Buyer to ensure resources are available when needed.
Team Management and Communication: Managing and leading the team effectively, employing high levels of communication, and conducting timely performance appraisals for directly employed site operatives.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Essential Requirements:
Experience: Extensive experience within the construction industry, including the proven delivery of large-scale projects.
Qualifications: SMSTS and CSCS Card (Supervisor or equivalent) are required.
Skills: Proven people management skills, commercial awareness, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of building programmes and regulations.
Personal: A practical, hands-on approach, proven decision-making ability, and high levels of integrity.
Highly Desirable:
First Aid at Work certification.
