Woodlands Edge is a 12-acre, community-led development set within its own woodland.
Phase 1 was built using Beco Wallform (an insulated concrete formwork system), giving each home a highly insulated, airtight structure. From there, we incorporated:
Solar PV panels
MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery) for consistent air quality and comfort year-round
Infrared heating panels
Rainwater harvesting systems
Waste water heat recovery systems
Phase 2 comprises 11 properties, using a mix of timber frame and traditional masonry construction. Each home was built with enhanced cavities and high levels of airtightness, approaching Passivhaus standards - some of the most rigorous energy efficiency benchmarks in the industry.
