Millennium Green
2, 3, 4 & 5 bed homes
Client: Gusto Homes
Architect: Chris Beardsley
Scope: 24 units
Millennium Green was the first development we delivered for Gusto Homes in 1999.
The project resulted in 24 new homes which used 50% less energy and 50% less water compared to houses built to contemporary building regulations at the time.
The executive style homes were built with three times the cavity width of the standard construction of the time. The properties were insulated using cellulose fibre made from recycled newspaper, they had solar water heating systems and rainwater harvesting systems to flush toilets and for washing machine use.
The forward-thinking ideas and technology used at Millennium Green were reviewed through a government White Paper and by the BRE, influencing the Code for Sustainable Homes.
